Is it any surprise I was able to finish this book in one day? I absolutely loved the previous book and have been dying for Wundersmith basically since I finished Nevermoors last page. Townsend continues the whimsical adventure with our lovely Morrigan joining the Wunderous Society. But don't expect this to be your typical magical school experience. Morrigan must deal with the fallout of being outed as a Wundersmith and while she has been nothing but loveable, there is already prejudice against all Wundersmiths thanks to our baddie Ezra Squall. Speaking of Squall, he is an absolutely amazing villain. He became so much more complex in this book and his relationship with Morrigan is most intriguing. Wundersmith exceeds all expectations for this wonderful new series and now I have to find a way to make it till book three!

I’ve been simultaneously wildly excited and terribly nervous about reading Wundersmith. Nevermoor was my absolute favourite kids book of last year and I was worried that my expectations for the follow up was too high. Wundersmith absolutely delivered and I adore this magical world more than ever. I look forward to reading further adventures with Mog and 919 in the future ❤🌂 I’ve been simultaneously wildly excited and terribly nervous about reading Wundersmith. Morrigan is introduced to the Wundrous Society and it's not exactly what she expected. Why did this book have to end? I only just got used to being back in Nevermoor and discovering its wonderful intricacies. The world-building continues to be absolutely fantastic: a mix of slightly familiar and utterly wondrous. I can't wait for the next book!

SO GOOD. So, so good. I can’t sing the praises of this series enough. I want to recommend it to everyone I pass. Once again, I am utterly won over by these characters and this author’s writing. I wish I could live within the pages of these books. There’s a magic in these words that’s only captured every once and a very rare while. Read it.

There are not enough stars here to rate this book. I loved this dark fantasy tale of knacks, the battle between good & evil and loyalty. This is going to be an amazing series - a true classic in the making.

If Nevermoor was what might have come about had Roald Dahl and J.K. Rowling collaborated, Wundersmith is what might have been birthed had Neil Gaiman wandered into the party. This is only not getting five stars because I reserve five stars for books that surprise me or go above and beyond my expectations and my expectations for this one were very, very high, so it would have taken finding cash money stashed in the pages to hit the five-star mark.

Just sublime. I read this in a day when I've been incredibly stressed which normally stops me reading. This was just what I needed. It was just like reading a big fat hug given to me by my nearest of friends whilst drinking the best hot chocolate ever. The storyline was fun and twisty, Morrigan has the best mix of confusion, excitement, anger and need, totally identify with her. Devoured with love.

Nevermoor was magic but you know Wundersmith will be Wundrous and it really is. If you read Nevermoor then you will know Morrigan {or 'Mog' to her Patron} and 8 others passed the trials to become the next class to enter the Wundersmith Co. However no one except those in her class and their patrons are to know her knack, especially as the skills still haven't made themselves apparent. Some still think she cheated her way in. With her dragon rider friend Hawthorne at her side can Morrigan get through a year of humdrum as all her classes involve looking at the town they live in or how Wundersmiths have made evil decisions in history whilst her friends make potions and are trained for battle. As misery sets in, her classmates start being blackmailed and although they stick with her, some make it known they are not happy by ignoring her. I love this series, I get goosebumps when I open the book for the first time as I am drawn into alleyways you can turn to walk up, markets that sell strange goods, angels sing to crowds and umbrellas are used for transport. It is difficult to say why without revealing too much about the magic and Wunder that seep from the story and make it one of those books you can't wait to put into people's hands for them to discover.
